The Bank of Maldives (BML) has officially inaugurated an ATM service in Dhaalu Maaen’boodhoo, enhancing banking accessibility for residents.

The service was launched on Monday by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during his three-day visit to Dhaalu Atoll.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by BML Managing Director and CEO Mohamed Shareef, senior officials of the bank, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The ATM installation was a collaborative effort between BML and the Maaen’boodhoo Council, as part of the Government’s broader initiative to expand banking services to all islands across the Maldives.

Speaking at the event, BML CEO Mohamed Shareef emphasised that the new ATM service will allow residents to access banking services without having to travel to other islands. He noted that the ATMs will offer a range of services, including loan and card payments, cash withdrawals, and deposits.

Shareef also announced that BML employees from the Kudahuvadhoo branch will visit Maaen’boodhoo regularly to provide additional banking assistance to the community.

Additionally, he highlighted BML’s recent announcement that starting from Ramadan, all banking services will be fully accessible online through internet banking.

Welcoming the Government’s initiative to expand banking services nationwide, Shareef expressed appreciation for President Dr Muizzu’s decision to ensure ATM services are established in all islands.
