The Maldives has unveiled its energy roadmap during a side event at COP29, presented by Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim. The roadmap, in line with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's pledge, outlines the nation’s plan to generate 33 per cent of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2028.
Minister Thoriq highlighted the roadmap as a pivotal move for advancing the country's energy sector and protecting the environment. He assured attendees of the Government's commitment to achieving this ambitious goal.
