The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), in collaboration with Singapore Airlines, organised a familiarisation trip for Chinese media representatives and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to showcase the Maldives' tourism offerings and strengthen its appeal in the Chinese market.

The trip, held from February 18 to 23 2025, provided participants with firsthand experience of the Maldives' hospitality at Pullman Maldives Maamutaa and The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives. The initiative focused on highlighting the country's diverse attractions, including its luxury resorts, pristine beaches, and unique cultural experiences, with the goal of increasing interest among Chinese travellers.

MMPRC stated that this was the first such trip of the year aimed at the Chinese market and forms part of a broader strategy to position the Maldives as a top-tier destination with 56,461 Chinese tourists visiting Maldives so far in 2025. The corporation has been actively engaging with travel industry stakeholders through marketing campaigns, trade partnerships, and promotional activities.

To further attract travellers, MMPRC is implementing a range of promotional efforts, including digital marketing campaigns, roadshows in China, and participation in key industry events. Additionally, collaborations with travel agencies and media platforms are being strengthened to expand outreach.
