Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources, Ahmed Shiyam, has reaffirmed that the ruling People's National Congress (PNC) will not infringe upon the rights of the people while pursuing its political objectives.

In a post on X, Minister Shiyam supported a recent statement made by Minister of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, during a parliamentary session. He reiterated that the Administration of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu remains committed to upholding the rights of the people and ensuring their concerns are addressed.

Emphasising the Government's stance, Minister Shiyam stated that the current Administration is dedicated to fulfilling its promises and implementing policies that directly benefit the people. He also made it clear that the Government has a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.

Minister Shiyam suggested that, unlike previous administrations, the current Government is not only committed to opposing corruption but is also taking active steps to address it. He pointed to the efforts made within Parliament since the Government's inception to tackle corruption in the Maldives.
