Kaafu Kaashidhoo Futsal Team claimed victory in the Golden Futsal Challenge 2025 final, defeating Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo Futsal Team 4-1 at Hulhumalé Rehendhi Futsal Ground.
Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef graced the event, greeting finalists before the match and later presenting trophies and cash prizes to both teams—silver medals for runners-up and championship medals for the victors.
He also awarded the historic 'King of the Tournament' title to Mohamed Saleel, Kaashidhoo's goalkeeper and the first goalkeeper in tournament history to receive this honour.
Speaking afterwards, the Vice President praised the Golden Futsal Challenge as the Maldives' largest and most prestigious futsal tournament, running since 2015. He described the final as highly competitive yet disciplined, highlighting the presence of young talent.
He further reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to expanding opportunities in sports for youth, in line with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s vision.
The Golden Futsal Challenge 2025 is a nationwide futsal tournament organised and managed by a private entity in the Maldives. The tournament began on February 6 with 128 teams participating from various regions across the Maldives.
