Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has reiterated the Government’s commitment to ensuring public safety, stating that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s Administration will not permit any illegal activity that endangers the people.

In a post on 'X', the Vice President highlighted ongoing efforts under Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan’s leadership to address key security concerns, including initiatives related to undocumented migrants, drug trafficking, and other illegal activities. He noted that these measures are being implemented at an unprecedented pace, assuring the public that their impact will soon be evident.

The Vice President also criticised a small group of politicians for attempting to undermine Minister Ihusaan’s credibility and disrupt national stability by pushing a vote of no confidence against him in Parliament. The motion, submitted by the opposition, was ultimately rejected by a significant majority in the legislature.

Reaffirming the Government’s stance, the Vice President stated that President Dr Muizzu’s Administration remains firm in its commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the nation’s security.
