Booking.com and MMPRC Sign MoU to promote Maldives tourism

Booking.com and the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the Maldives' visibility as a premier travel destination.

The agreement, effective from March 1, 2025, to March 1, 2027, aims to leverage Booking.com's global reach and marketing expertise to attract more visitors to the island nation.

According to a press release from MMPRC, the partnership will focus on joint marketing initiatives, promotion on Booking.com, and skill-building workshops for accommodation providers, with sustainability as a focal point.

MMPRC CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree stated that the partnership is crucial for showcasing the Maldives' diversity globally. He explained that by leveraging Booking.com's network and digital capabilities, they aim to increase visitor numbers and strengthen their position as a multifaceted destination.

Booking.com will provide optimisation training to accommodation providers, support marketing campaigns, and offer insights into travel trends to align with market demands.

Santosh Kumar, Booking.com's country manager for the region, expressed delight in the partnership and commitment to showcasing the Maldives' attractions globally. He highlighted their focus on supporting local providers through training initiatives to ensure long-term tourism sustainability.

The collaboration is expected to drive significant growth in tourist arrivals and establish the Maldives as a world-class holiday destination.
