The issue of appointing two members to the police board has been forwarded to the Parliamentary Committee on National Security Services for further review.

This comes after four individuals expressed their interest in securing the positions, which require Parliamentary approval.

The matter was brought before Parliament, where the Chair directed it to the Committee on National Security Services for assessment. The review process is expected to determine the suitability of the candidates and ensure that the appointments align with the established criteria.

The four applicants for the police board positions are:

  • Mohamed Sodhiq
  • Ahmed Muawiyath Qasim
  • Ahmed Mizmadh
  • Misbah Hussain

The selection process will involve evaluating their qualifications and experience before a final decision is made.

The police board consists of multiple members, including two appointed directly by the President, three selected based on their expertise in a technical field, and two chosen through an open application process, subject to Parliamentary approval.
