The Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) has extended its resort waste collection service, Fathuruveshi, to three additional resorts.

Agreements with the new resorts were signed during a ceremony held earlier today, marking a significant step in enhancing waste disposal solutions for the tourism sector.

WAMCO’s Managing Director Mujthaba Jaleel highlighted the efficiency of the Fathuruveshi service and its potential to generate significant revenue for the company.

Launched on 11 July this year, the Fathuruveshi service addresses the challenges resorts face in transporting waste to regional transfer stations. Participating resorts can now rely on WAMCO's services for waste management.

WAMCO has also announced plans to sign agreements with two more resorts soon, bringing the total to eight properties utilising the service.

The expansion of Fathuruveshi aligns with WAMCO’s broader efforts to provide innovative waste management solutions that cater to the unique needs of the country while supporting sustainability goals.
