Maldives Minister of Tourism and Environment, Thoriq Ibrahim, has travelled to Germany to attend the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB), the world’s largest tourism fair, which will take place from March 4 to 6 at the Berlin Expocity Centre.
During the event, the Minister is scheduled to engage in discussions with both national and international tourism industry partners. The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and other industry stakeholders will also be present, promoting the Maldives as a leading tourism destination.
The Maldives has been preparing extensively for ITB Berlin, with a focus on reinforcing its position as the "Most Popular Tourism Destination in the World." Following a record-breaking 2024, where the Maldives welcomed over two million tourists, the government aims to attract 2.3 million visitors in 2025.
This year’s ITB Berlin marks another important step in the Maldives' efforts to enhance its presence on the global tourism stage.
