The Ministry of Health provided Fuvahmulah Hospital with a CT scan machine on March 3, addressing a longstanding public concern and strengthening the city's healthcare infrastructure.
According to hospital officials, the final inspection of the CT scan machine has been successfully completed. Teams from both the hospital and the Ministry of Health are working meticulously to ensure the swift establishment of the service. Once all necessary arrangements are finalised, CT scan services will commence at the earliest opportunity.
The absence of CT scan facilities has posed a significant challenge for the residents of Fuvahmulah, often necessitating travel to other regions for essential diagnostic procedures.
Addressing such gaps in medical services remains a priority for the Government, which has been committed to enhancing healthcare infrastructure across Malé and the atolls. Several hospitals have expanded their services, with some being upgraded to tertiary-level medical institutions to meet the evolving healthcare demands of the population.
