Ministry commends Mariyam Wisam for decade of service as Registrar

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has expressed gratitude to Mariyam Wisam for her dedicated service as the Registrar of Companies.

She resigned from the position on March 1, 2025, after serving in the role for over 11 years.

Wisam was appointed as Registrar on January 28, 2014, and during her tenure, she played a key role in strengthening the business sector and developing the legal framework for corporate governance in the Maldives. She also previously served as Director General of the Capital Market Development Authority.

In a statement posted on X, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade acknowledged Wisam’s contributions to business sector reforms and wished her continued success. The Ministry also welcomed her decision to remain a member of the Governing Board of the Maldives International Financial Services Authority (MIFSA).

Wisam pursued higher education in Economics in Australia and the UK, obtaining her master’s degree from Queensland, Australia.
