People’s National Congress (PNC) Parliamentary Group Leader, Ibrahim Falah, and Senior Deputy Leader, Ibrahim Shujau, have denied reports alleging that the party directed Ministers and State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) executives to avoid attending Parliament, without the President’s approval.

Some media outlets reported that MP Falah, on behalf of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, relayed this directive during a PNC Parliamentary Group meeting last week. However, both Falah and Shujau have dismissed the claims as false.

In a post on X, Falah rejected the reports, stating that the news circulating on the matter is entirely untrue.

Similarly, PNC Parliamentary Group Senior Deputy Leader, MP Shujau, refuted the allegations, affirming that Parliament alone decides who must appear before it and that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has not instructed the PNC regarding such a matter.

Shujau further asserted that the PNC Parliamentary Group has no reservations about summoning former and current Government officials to Parliament and ensuring that all necessary clarifications are made when required.
