The Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, has announced that the Government aims to complete the distribution of canned tuna, under the Roadha Hadhiyaa programme, by next Monday.

In a post via X, the Minister stated that the dispatch of canned tuna to Gaafu Dhaalu and Gaafu Alifu Atoll, the only remaining atolls yet to receive the Roadha Hadhiyaa, will commence tomorrow. With this, the distribution will have reached all parts of the country.

In the Greater Malé Region, the distribution is taking place from 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm. The process is being carried out through a token system, ensuring that recipients are informed in advance about the time and location for collection.

The Roadha Hadhiyaa programme was first introduced by the current Administration last Ramadan, with staple foods provided to the public.

Additionally, the Government has announced that, similar to last year, households will receive electricity subsidies for the month of Ramadan.
