The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the operating hours for the collection of biometric data of foreign workers in the Maldives during Ramadan.

The biometric registration is being conducted under Operation Kurangi, a large-scale initiative launched on May 24, 2024, to document foreign workers in the country. The Government aims to complete the operation by April.

Currently, biometric data collection is being carried out at the Joint Operations Centre at NCIT, the harbour area desk, and Kalaafaanu School.

The Ministry has stated that from next Sunday until the 7th of Shawwal, the service will be available from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm and again from 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

To further facilitate employers, the Ministry has also arranged for biometric data collection at Rehendhi School Hall in Hulhumalé Phase 1. This service will be available from 9:30 pm to 12:30 am, starting this Thursday until the 7th of Shawwal.
