Maldives Police Service has conducted a special operation in Malé City, following a tip-off about the illegal sale of vapes.

The operation, conducted on Wednesday, was a collaborative effort between the Maldives Police Service, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.

During the operation, police searched a shop in Galolhu, where a large number of vapes were confiscated in connection with alleged illegal trading.

Additionally, officers raided the residence of a suspected vape dealer and the café where he works.

The search led to the seizure of 84 vape cartridges and cash believed to have been obtained from the sale of vapes. A 27-year-old Bangladeshi man was arrested in connection with the case.

Authorities have confirmed that investigations into both cases are ongoing.
