Dr Iruthisham assumes Non-Resident Ambassador role to France

The Maldives' High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr Iruthisham Adam, has officially presented her Letter of Credence to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, assuming the role of Non-Resident Ambassador to France.
The ceremony was held on March 7, 2025, at the Palais de l'Elysée in Paris.
Following this, Ambassador Dr Iruthisham conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to President Macron and the French government. She emphasised the long-standing bilateral relations between the two countries and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening ties, particularly in trade, investment, and cultural exchange.
She also held meetings with Jean Claude Brunet, Ambassador for Regional Cooperation in the Indian Ocean, and Myriam Saint Pierre, Deputy Director of the Asia and Oceania Department at the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
The Ambassador was accompanied by Aminath Samra, Third Secretary at the High Commission of the Maldives to the United Kingdom.
