Addu City Council has announced the opening of a bidding process for the development of a 45-room city hotel in Feydhoo, located in the Dhigihera Tourism Zone (S4).

The proposed hotel will be built on newly reclaimed land on the western side of Feydhoo, just 2 km from Addu International Airport and opposite Savaaheli Island. The strategic location offers convenient access for international visitors and provides tourists with easy access to both the city and nearby attractions.

Interested investors can obtain detailed bidding information and purchase the bid book from the Addu City Council between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. from March 9 to 19, 2025. The 16,000 square feet of land offered for development can be leased for a maximum period of 50 years.

This hotel development is a key part of Addu City’s plan to enhance its tourism offerings and address local unemployment, particularly among youth. The council aims to encourage private sector investment, creating job opportunities and supporting the local economy.

The city currently has three resorts, with further tourism projects planned for newly reclaimed islands and dedicated tourism zones. The City hotel aims to strengthen Addu's position as a growing tourism destination, attracting more visitors and supporting local businesses.
