The Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works, Adam Shareef Umar, has reaffirmed his dedication to fostering a workplace culture built on respect, care, and inclusivity.

Speaking at an event organised by the Ministry's Recreation Club in celebration of International Women's Day, he stressed the invaluable contributions of women within the Ministry and acknowledged their significant role in its success.

In his address, the Minister spoke of the substantial yet often underappreciated efforts of female employees. He expressed profound gratitude for their dedication and sacrifices, emphasising that their contributions have been instrumental in advancing the Ministry’s objectives, often in ways that are not immediately visible.

He further reflected on the broader role of women in shaping a civilised society, stating that they serve as the foundation upon which progress is built. He noted that women bring vitality to institutions such as the City Ministry and play a crucial role in its operations.

While acknowledging that the Ministry employs fewer women than men, he asserted that the calibre of their work ensures that their impact remains equally significant.

The event, held at the Ministry’s public works unit, was attended by senior officials and employees.
