Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has described the current Government as one for the people, emphasising its commitment to serving the public's interests.
During an interview with PSM News, which marked the first anniversary of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's Administration, the Vice President stated that housing remains a top priority. He noted that a substantial portion of the Government's budget has been allocated to multiple housing projects.
Addressing fears of State bankruptcy that loomed at the outset of the Administration, the Vice President emphasised the Government's implementation of strict austerity measures, including suspending monetary expansion and overhauling the subsidy system.
The Vice President also highlighted that reduced crime rates have been a direct outcome of the Government's commitment to social reform. He added that the Government has adopted a balanced approach to policymaking, ensuring decisions prioritise public wellbeing.
The Government's 20-year National Development Plan, aimed at ending the cycle of project discontinuation during governmental transitions, was also emphasised by the Vice-President.
