The cruise ship MS Zuiderdam docked near Malé City on March 9, bringing 1,274 tourists and 751 crew members to the Maldives.

In a post on X on Thursday, Maldives Immigration confirmed that officers from its Seaport Division had completed clearance procedures for all passengers and crew.

This marks the second cruise ship to visit the Maldives this year. The first, which arrived in early January, carried 632 people, including 216 passengers and 416 crew members, after departing from Seychelles.

In late 2024, two major international cruise ships visited the country, with Maldives Immigration granting clearance to 4,658 passengers and crew members.

With an increasing number of cruise ships arriving, the Government has announced plans to develop cruise jetties in three regions to enhance port infrastructure and better accommodate international cruise tourism.
