President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced the Eid al-Fitr holidays for Government offices, ensuring an extended break for employees to celebrate with their families.

In a statement issued on Friday, the President’s Office outlined that the holiday schedule will depend on the official determination of Shawwal 1446 by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs. If Eid al-Fitr falls on March 31, Government offices will be closed from March 31 to April 3. Alternatively, If Eid is observed on March 30, the holiday period will extend from March 30 to April 3, effectively granting a full week off.

The President’s decision aims to allow public sector employees to spend as much time as possible with their families during Eid celebrations.

With this schedule, Government offices will reopen on Sunday, April 6.
