First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has inaugurated the "Dhivehi Gaumiyyathuge Isvaruge Office," where she highlighted the importance of patriotism in safeguarding the Maldives’ identity and ensuring its future.

Speaking at the ceremony, the First Lady underscored the interconnectedness between patriotism, Islam, culture, and tradition. She emphasised that reviving the patriotism among Maldivians will lead to the revival of a stronger moral compass for the nation. She also stated that it will cultivate a civilized, strong, and sensible populace and that patriotism is a necessity for the maintenance of our culture and beliefs.

“Our country has patriotism, our beliefs, our conditions, and the values that young Maldivians should build their ideology on. That is what makes me happy as a mother. As it opens the way for building a generation that knows how to strengthen one's self and one's own country in the same way that we know how to think with our nation intellectually," said the First Lady.

During the ceremony, the First Lady also paid respect to the efforts being made to reinvigorate patriotism in the people of this nation. She believes that the office will act as a catalyst in maintaining these endeavours to revive patriotism.
