A significant portion of the 75 housing units under construction in Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo is nearing completion, according to the contractor, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). 

The Ministry of Construction and Infrastructure stated that the MVR 120 million project, being carried out by SJ Company, is expected to be completed this year. 

MTCC reported that 83.2 per cent of the Dhidhdhoo row houses have been finished. 

Each unit in the two-storey development includes three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a sitting room, a kitchen, a dining room, a laundry area, and a storage room. 

Housing shortages remain one of the biggest challenges facing the Maldives. The government continues to roll out major housing projects across the country to address the issue.
