Parliament has approved the appointment of two members to the Police Board. 

Four individuals applied for the two positions reserved for ordinary citizens and appointed by Parliament. After conducting interviews, the Parliamentary Committee on National Security Services awarded scores exceeding 80 per cent to Mohamed Sodiq and Ahmed Mizmad, both from Malé City.

Parliament voted today on their appointments, with both candidates receiving approval by 64 votes. 

The Police Board consists of two members appointed by the President, three members with relevant professional expertise, and two members selected by Parliament through a public application process.
