President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has nominated Geela Ali, the Maldives' Ambassador to Belgium and the European Union, as the non-resident Ambassador to Denmark.

The nomination was submitted to Parliament for endorsement and referred to the Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee for review during Monday’s sitting.

Under the Foreign Service Act, presidential appointments of ambassadors and high commissioners require parliamentary approval before confirmation.
