The Pakistani navy ship, PNS Aslat, has concluded its visit to the Maldives after conducting joint exercises with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Coast Guard, aimed at strengthening cooperation in maritime security.

PNS Aslat arrived in the Maldives last Thursday, where it was welcomed by Pakistan’s Defence Advisor and senior officials of the MNDF. The ship remained in the country until Sunday, during which its Commanding Officer, Captain Muhammad Azhar Akram, held discussions with High Commissioner of Pakistan to the Maldives, Vice Admiral (Retd) Faisal Rasul Lodi, as well as Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, and senior Coast Guard officials.

As part of the visit, an iftar reception was hosted onboard PNS Aslat, attended by ministers, members of parliament, senior officials, and representatives from various diplomatic missions in the Maldives.

The joint naval exercises conducted during the visit aimed to enhance cooperation and interoperability between the Pakistan Navy and the MNDF Coast Guard.
