The Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Welfare has initiated the process of compiling a comprehensive registry to identify individuals and businesses engaged in commercial agriculture across the Maldives.

According to the Ministry, the aim is to collect information from commercial farmers, livestock and poultry farmers, and commercial nursery operators. Additionally, individuals and businesses interested in entering the agricultural sector are encouraged to register.

The Ministry has invited all existing and prospective commercial agricultural entities to submit the required form via email before April 10, 2025. However, individual farmers from inhabited islands are not required to apply, the Ministry confirmed.

This initiative is part of the Government's efforts to promote agriculture and encourage youth participation in the sector by providing necessary support and empowerment.
