In a formal ceremony held today, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment signed agreements for the establishment of standardised waste management facilities on four islands under the Greater Malé Environmental Improvement and Waste Management Project.

This initiative, supported through a combination of grants and loans from the Asian Development Bank and other international assistance programmes, seeks to implement a comprehensive waste management system across Zone 3, encompassing Kaafu, Alif Alif, Alif Dhaalu, and Thaa atolls.

As part of this development, Sunnland Investment has been awarded contracts for waste management operations on the islands of Alif Alif Himandhoo, Alif Alif Feridhoo, Alif Alif Thoddoo, and Kaafu Kaashidhoo.

The agreements were officially signed by Minister Thoriq Ibrahim on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.
