The Ministry of Health has announced plans to introduce X-ray services in four islands across the Maldives.

The islands where the new X-ray services will be established are Holhudhoo and Velidhoo in Noonu Atoll, Milandhoo in Shaviyani Atoll, and Maamigili in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll.

According to the Ministry of Health, preparations are underway to complete all administrative work, make necessary modifications to buildings, and install the required equipment to operationalise the service.

The State budget for this year has placed significant emphasis on strengthening and expanding healthcare services nationwide. In addition to launching new diagnostic facilities, the budget includes plans for the development of five more hospitals, including a Thalassemia Hospital and a Cancer Hospital.
