The Maldivian Parliament has been adjourned for the last ten days of Ramadan and the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holidays. Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla announced that the next parliamentary session will resume on April 7, 2025.

At the end of the session, the Speaker urged members to set a positive example for the public, emphasising the importance of dedication and honesty during Ramadan. He expressed his hopes that the blessings of the month would bring peace and fulfilment to all.

Earlier, the People’s National Congress (PNC) proposed suspending parliamentary sittings for the entire month of Ramadan. The proposal was initially approved, but later revised. The current parliamentary term began in February and is scheduled to conclude in May.
