The State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has opened applications for its merit-based scholarship scheme, offering opportunities for Maldivians under the age of 24 to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom.

Under the programme, one recipient will be awarded a scholarship to study a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, while two recipients will be selected for mechanical engineering degrees.

Applicants must have achieved two A* and one A in A-levels, with subjects including Mathematics, Physics, and either Further Mathematics, Chemistry, or Computer Science. Equivalent qualifications from the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme will also be considered.

Additionally, applicants must have at least a grade B/6 in GCSE/IGCSE English Language or an equivalent qualification.
