Judge Mohamed Faisal has been appointed to temporarily oversee the High Court following recent developments within the judiciary.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) entrusted him with this responsibility after the elevation of Justice Hussain Shaheed, a senior judge of the High Court, to the Supreme Court.
Justice Hussain Shaheed’s appointment to the Supreme Court follows the resignation of former Supreme Court Judge Husnu Suood. His tenure at the High Court concluded yesterday, after which he formally assumed his new role on the Supreme Court bench.
Judge Faisal, who has served as a High Court judge since July 2018, brings extensive judicial experience to this interim position. His previous tenure as Vice-President of the Judicial Service Commission further highlights his expertise in judicial administration.
