The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened nominations for the post of Chief Judge of the High Court.

According to the JSC, only judges currently serving on the High Court are eligible to apply for the position.

The position offers a basic monthly salary of MVR 47,700, in addition to a living allowance of MVR 18,000 and a risk allowance of MVR 3,300. The Chief Judge is also entitled to a phone allowance and health insurance, as determined by Parliament.

Interested candidates must submit their applications through the Commission’s Fahires Portal by 12:00 p.m. on March 29, 2025.

The vacancy comes after Uz Hussain Shaheedh’s promotion to Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
