President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings to the people of the Maldives and international partners on the occasion of World Water Day, stressing the importance of global action to address climate change and water-related challenges.
In a message shared on X, the President highlighted this year’s theme, “Glacier Preservation”, as a strong reminder of the link between climate change, water scarcity, and human vulnerability. He noted that the Maldives remains committed to tackling these vulnerabilities and reaffirmed that ensuring sustainable access to clean water is a top national priority.
The President also emphasised the importance of taking meaningful steps toward building a more sustainable future.
World Water Day, observed annually on March 22, focuses on raising awareness of the global water crisis and promoting efforts to ensure access to safe and sustainable water.
