The Ministry of Tourism and Environment has launched a photography competition to mark World Wildlife Day 2025.
The competition aims to showcase the Maldives' rich natural environment and raise awareness about its wildlife and ecosystems.
Open to all, the competition features three categories: Wildlife, Aerial (drone photography), and Habitats. The photographs will be judged based on technical quality, composition, impact, ethical standards, and alignment with the theme.
Prizes for the best entries in each category include cameras and drones. The top 10 photographs from each category will be published in an "e-booklet" and displayed in a photo exhibition. Entries must adhere to ethical guidelines, ensuring no harm or disturbance is caused to animals or their environment.
The deadline for submissions is 12:00 p.m. on April 3, 2025, in conjunction with World Wildlife Day. Photos should be submitted to the Ministry of Environment’s official email [email protected] .
World Wildlife Day, celebrated annually on March 3, is dedicated to raising awareness about the protection of endangered species and the conservation of wildlife worldwide.
