The Maldives National University Students' Union (MNUSU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, organised the 'Palestine Forum' in Addu City, bringing attention to the history and current situation in Palestine.

The forum took place at Addu High School on Saturday evening and featured a panel discussion alongside a presentation. The panelists included Sheikh Mohammed Anil and Ahmed Nazil, who addressed three key topics: the historical background of Palestine, the present-day circumstances in the region, and effective advocacy methods for the Palestinian cause.

Vice President of MNUSU Suaid Yunus, Vice President Ahmed Iyaaz from the 10th Term, and Vice President Mohamed Naabith Ahmed from the 12th Term, and Mohamed Yasir Moosa, a former manager of the MNUSU Boduberu group, conducted the presentations. These sessions aimed to provide an academic perspective on the Palestinian cause, followed by a question-and-answer segment where participants had the opportunity to engage with the discussion.

The event was attended by school and university students, as well as members of the general public. According to MNUSU, this was the first forum of its kind organised by high school students, with the objective of raising awareness on the genocide in Palestine through an academic lens. The student union also confirmed that additional sessions of the forum are planned to be held on Maldives National University campuses in the coming days.
