President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed his deepest condolences to Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, in the wake of the catastrophic earthquake that struck Southeast Asia. 

In his message, President Dr Muizzu expressed profound sorrow over the tragic event and extended his sympathies to the families who have lost loved ones. He also conveyed his heartfelt wishes for a swift recovery to those who have been injured and displaced by the disaster.

The President also reaffirmed Maldives’ unwavering solidarity with the people of Thailand during this challenging time. He expressed hope for an effective response to the disaster, ensuring that relief efforts reach those in need swiftly, and that the recovery and rebuilding process proceeds smoothly.

The 7.7 magnitude earthquake resulted in significant loss of life and multiple injuries across the region.
