As the Maldives Police Service celebrates its 92nd anniversary, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu extended warm greetings to police officers and their families, expressing gratitude for their service and dedication.

In a message shared via his official X account, President Dr Muizzu acknowledged the relentless efforts of police officers who work day and night to ensure the safety and security of the nation.

While the President’s message focused on honouring the service of police officers, the Government has also been working on a major initiative to expand and improve police infrastructure across the country. Currently, the Maldives operates 17 independent police stations, but under a broader national plan, the construction of 75 additional purpose-built stations has been contracted to various State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has outlined that the objective of the project is to ensure every island has a dedicated police station by the end of 2025. These new facilities are intended to replace temporary or rented spaces, providing law enforcement personnel with proper working environments that meet operational standards.
