The Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has officially commenced the upgrades to water and sewerage systems in nine Islands. 

In a recent post shared on X, the Managing Director of MWSC, Abdul Matheen Mohamed, stated that the work has begun in Shaviyani Noomaraa, Shaviyani Bileffahi, Noonu Miladhoo, Noonu Magoodhoo, Baa Kudarikilu, Alifu Dhaalu Fenfuhsi, Meemu Raiymandhoo, Thaa Dhiyamigili, and Thaa Madifushi under the Government's policy ensures the entire population has clean water and safe sewerage.

Matheen stated that the company has dispatched heavy equipment such as excavators to these islands and started cleaning the R.O. buildings in the nine islands. Matheen also stated that they have scheduled the surveys needed to upgrade the household systems in Noomaraa and Magoodhoo. According to Matheen, they have also started connecting water meters to the households in Magoodhoo. 

The Government is highly committed to ensuring that every citizen has access to clean water and safe sewerage systems. Alongside these projects, the government is also carrying out several other projects and launching new projects.
