During the 'Sagaafee Festival'

Saadha Entertainment's ‘Sagaafee Festival’ has successfully wrapped up, marking a vibrant celebration of Maldivian culture.

Held over three days at the Malé Artificial Beach, the festival coincided with Eid al-Fitr and aimed to revive and promote traditional cultural activities.

The event featured a variety of Maldivian performances, including cultural dances and drumming by local groups such as the ‘Hiyala Sagaafee Dance’ group, ‘Heyvalla,’ and the ‘1438 Boduberu’ group. In addition, a children's evening was held, offering activities like bodumas dhuvvun and maali nerun, along with appearances from popular cartoon characters.

Local businesses were also given a platform, with stalls showcasing a range of Maldivian products. Items such as T-shirts, keychains, jewellery, home decor, and cultural symbols were available for purchase, highlighting the country's rich traditions. Furthermore, 100 per cent Maldivian food products were featured, with many women entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses participating.

According to Saadha Entertainment, the festival was a success, with positive feedback from participants. The event not only offered a platform for cultural expression but also gave small businesses a valuable opportunity for exposure. The organisers expressed their satisfaction with the festival's outcome and their hopes for an even more comprehensive event next year.

The festival, which also took place last year, saw even greater participation and enthusiasm this time around. Saadha Entertainment thanked Honda, the event's title sponsor, for their support, and indicated plans to build on this success in future editions of the festival.
