Maldives Immigration has arrested 11 foreign nationals for working illegally at a café in Malé City.

The arrests were made during a raid conducted by the Immigration Task Force on Thursday night.

According to Immigration, the operation is part of ongoing efforts to identify and take action against undocumented migrant workers across the country. Authorities noted that the café where the individuals were employed was operating in a manner that posed a risk to public health.

These targeted raids are part of broader enforcement actions by Maldives Immigration to address illegal employment and residency. The agency has been actively pursuing undocumented workers through platforms such as 'Immigration Watch', which allows the public to report suspected violations.

In addition to enforcement, Immigration has recently ramped up efforts to deport individuals found to be in the country without proper documentation or legal work permits.
