A new 800-kilowatt generator has been delivered to Laamu Maavah to strengthen electricity services on the island, according to FENAKA Corporation Limited.

In a post on X, FENAKA stated that the new engine was brought in as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure sustainable and reliable electricity supply to communities across the Maldives. Installation work is already underway and is expected to be completed within the next week, after which the upgraded service will be made available to residents.

This development follows similar efforts by FENAKA to address electricity issues in other parts of the country, including the recent delivery of a generator to Addu City, where ongoing work aims to resolve power shortages.

FENAKA currently provides electricity services to 157 islands across the Maldives and continues to expand its operations to improve infrastructure and ensure energy reliability in island communities.
