President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised that education is the nation's most valuable investment, calling it both a national priority and a religious obligation.

In his message marking the start of the 2025 academic year on 7 April, he highlighted that the first word revealed in the Holy Quran was "Iqra" (Read), underscoring the significance of learning in Islam.

The President reaffirmed his Administration's commitment to building an inclusive, high-performing education system that ensures equal access for all children across the Maldives, pledging specifically that no child on any island will be left behind.

He outlined ongoing Government efforts to improve school infrastructure, strengthen teacher training, and expand opportunities for education professionals. He also stressed that education is the bedrock of national progress and called for collective responsibility, noting that successful education requires active participation from the entire community.

Urging educators to perform their duties with sincerity, the President encouraged parents to support their children's academic and moral development and advised students to seize every opportunity to become responsible, well-rounded citizens.

The President also shared a congratulatory message on his official X account, extending best wishes to all involved in the education sector for the year ahead.
