Vice President encourages hard work and determination as new academic year begins

The Vice President, Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, has called on the public to embrace hard work and courage in the pursuit of success as the new academic year officially commenced across the Maldives today.

Sharing his message through social media, the Vice President extended well wishes to students, teachers, and parents at the start of the school term. He emphasised the importance of encouraging students to remain committed and resilient in their efforts to achieve success. He also expressed his hopes for a blessed and prosperous year for all.

According to the Ministry of Education, approximately 90,000 students have returned to classrooms nationwide. This year, 216 schools across the country are welcoming students, supported by an estimated 11,000 teachers who will be facilitating lessons and academic activities.

The academic calendar for 2025 has been structured into two terms. The first term will run until 24 July, while the second term is scheduled to begin on 10 August. The academic year is set to conclude on 28 December.
