The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has launched its 'Income Tax Assistance Program 2025' on April 6, 2025, with the programme set to run until June 15, 2025.

This initiative is aimed at individuals and businesses with a total income of MVR 10 million or less for the year 2024 who have chosen to prepare their financial statements on a cash basis. The programme is designed to assist eligible taxpayers in fulfilling their income tax filing obligations accurately and on time.

Support will be available through various channels including phone, email, and digital platforms. Taxpayers can contact MIRA via Viber at 9821415, email at [email protected], through the hotline at 1415, or use the live chat service on the MIRA website.

To check whether an individual or organisation is required to file a tax return for the year 2024, taxpayers can use MIRA's online income tax eligibility calculator.

The deadline to file income tax returns for 2024 is June 30, 2025. Non-compliance may result in penalties under the Tax Administration Act.
