MTCC to launch major nationwide education project

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education to undertake a wide-scale project to upgrade education infrastructure across the country.
The agreement was signed by Managing Director, DCP (Rtd) Ahmed Saudee on behalf of MTCC, and Minister of Education, Dr Ismail Shareef on behalf of the Ministry.
As part of this initiative, MTCC will construct classrooms and multipurpose halls in several islands to support learning and community development.
The project includes the development of both a classroom and a multipurpose hall in Shaviyani Bilehffahi, Alifu Alifu Mathiveri, Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo, and Kaafu Gulhi.
Additional classrooms will be built in Haa Alifu Molhadhoo, Haa Dhaalu Neykurendhoo, Raa Dhuvaafaru, Baa Kudarikilu, Thaa Gaadhiffushi, Haa Alifu Maarandhoo, and Laamu Maavah.
Furthermore, multipurpose halls will be constructed in Haa Dhaalu Nolhivaram, Raa Innamaadhoo, Thaa Madifushi, and Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo.
MTCC, the first publicly listed company in the Maldives, continues to play a vital role in national development while also demonstrating strong commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR).
In the final three months of 2024 alone, the company reported spending over MVR 900,000 on CSR initiatives. These included the installation of geo bags to address coastal erosion in Dhaalu Vanee and providing equipment support for the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Air Station in Gan.
