A total of 178 people have received various services at the fertility centre in Dharumavantha Hospital, with the first embryo transfer scheduled for May.
This was revealed by the CEO of Male’ Group of Hospitals, Ibrahim Abdulrazzaq Haleem, during the Bodu Khabaru programme on MMTV.
Highlighting that the fertility centre is well-equipped, he noted that it has so far provided various services to 178 individuals, including consultations and a range of diagnostic tests.
He further added that they carried out their first IVF procedure on March 11 and that the first embryo transfer is scheduled for May, with nine more couples prepared for this treatment.
Abdulrazzaq also stated that as part of their ongoing effort to expand services, the centre has begun offering Oncofertility treatment, and two families have already received the service. Oncofertility focuses on preserving and maximising the reproductive potential of cancer patients and survivors.
established in 2023, the Fertility centre was the first of its kind in the Maldives. Its establishment has been a huge relief for so many families, who can now access this service more easily and affordably within the country.
