President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his congratulations to the leadership and staff of Island Aviation, recognising their unwavering dedication as the company marks 25 years of uninterrupted service in the aviation sector.

In a message shared via  X, President Dr Muizzu expressed his pride in the commitment demonstrated by the Island Aviation team over the past quarter-century. He noted that the airline had consistently represented the Maldives in the skies, playing a vital role in the country’s connectivity. He further conveyed his best wishes on the occasion of the company's silver jubilee, highlighting the company’s achievements in expanding transportation networks, bolstering the national economy, and fostering sustainable development.

Island Aviation is the operator of Maldivian, the national carrier, which has seen steady growth in its operations and reach. The Government continues to work actively to strengthen and expand the airline’s capabilities.

Recent advancements have seen Maldivian commence international operations, thereby extending its services beyond the borders of the Maldives. As part of this expansion strategy, the Government has acquired an Airbus A330 to facilitate long-haul routes. Further plans are also in motion to procure an additional aircraft, aimed at increasing the airline’s operational capacity.
