Residents will now be able to travel to Dhaalu Uhdhoo starting April 16, following the official announcement by the Ministry of Cities, Local Government and Public Works that the island has been opened for public use.

The ministry confirmed on Monday that Uhdhoo will be accessible from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays, in line with a pledge made by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu earlier this year. The initiative aims to improve inter-island connectivity, particularly for communities in South Nilandhe Atoll.

Travellers have been urged to maintain cleanliness on the island and comply with existing guidelines while using Uhdhoo as a picnic island. Those who wish to make travel arrangements have been advised to contact the numbers 9108899 or 7777848.
